MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH NURSE

 

Organization

Tubman offers a full continuum of domestic violence services, legal assistance, mental and chemical health counseling, parenting and family support services. The newly merged organization serves over 46,000 people in Hennepin, suburban Ramsey and Washington counties each year.

 

Responsibilities

The Maternal Child Health Nurse is a three-year grant funded position. The Maternal Child Health Nurse is a member of a multi-disciplinary team serving chemically dependent women with a variety of health needs and concerns including Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.  Responsibilities include client and child health screening, carrying a caseload, home visits, facilitating a support group, ensuring participants qualify for medical coverage and maintaining client and project evaluation records. The team will serve at a minimum, 60 women and 35 children per year.   

 

Qualifications

LPN with four years experience or BSN with two years experience.  Must have two years experience working with women and children, two years of public health experience, and an ability to work well in a team setting.  Must have a commitment to working with diverse clients, ability to maintain a calm presence, have a high degree of comfort with a computer and record keeping, and be able to multi-task. 

 

Position

The Maternal Child Health nurse position is a 32 to 40 hour per week position with full benefits. The position reports to the Manager of Mental and Chemical Health Services.

FAMILY ADVOCATE - YOUTH FOCUS

Full-time youth advocate needed to work with children and families in domestic violence shelter program utilizing a strength-based, individualized model. Position includes children and family activity planning/implementation, respite care, advocacy, support, resource and referrals, group facilitation/education, and team reviews.

Multiple positions are available. Hours vary depending on position, but may include second shift, weekends, and/or day shifts. Individuals of color and men are encouraged to apply.
